Conditions for Using ICPSR Data
By using data from the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research, University of California, Irvine students, faculty and staff agree to follow the ICPSR Use Policy listed here:
Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research Use Policy
ICPSR services are available to any faculty, staff, or student at University of California, Irvine, for
purposes of teaching, academic research, and institutional research for so
long as UCI maintains an institutional membership in ICPSR. It is expected
that members of the University community will not use ICPSR services in
private business arrangements, such as consulting. Member institutions
agree that data and other materials provided by ICPSR are to be used solely
for statistical analysis and reporting of aggregated information, and not
for investigation of specific individuals or organizations, except when
identification is authorized in writing by ICPSR. Each member institution
gives assurance that such uses of statistical data will conform to
widely-accepted standards of practice and legal restrictions that are
intended to protect the confidentiality of research subjects.
