Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research Use Policy

ICPSR services are available to any faculty, staff, or student at University of California, Irvine, for purposes of teaching, academic research, and institutional research for so long as UCI maintains an institutional membership in ICPSR. It is expected that members of the University community will not use ICPSR services in private business arrangements, such as consulting. Member institutions agree that data and other materials provided by ICPSR are to be used solely for statistical analysis and reporting of aggregated information, and not for investigation of specific individuals or organizations, except when identification is authorized in writing by ICPSR. Each member institution gives assurance that such uses of statistical data will conform to widely-accepted standards of practice and legal restrictions that are intended to protect the confidentiality of research subjects.
