OVERALL MOOD: REAL ESTATE MARKET

Orange County residents continue to feel very upbeat about the local housing market. This year, three in four homeowners say buying a home here is an excellent or good investment, while 19% call it fair and only 5% say poor. Among those who rent, 56% believe that owning a home in Orange County would be an excellent or good investment, 27% say fair and 13% call it poor.

The number who think a home in Orange County is a favorable investment is the same as last year among homeowners. Optimism about owning an Orange County home is 25 points higher today than it was in 1995.

Among renters, the number who consider buying a house in Orange County to be an excellent or good investment has dropped 5 points since last year. Still, the positive ratings have climbed 15 points since 1995.
